OUR STORY
Hi, I'm Valeria - the founder and maker behind LEMMO PROJECT.
LEMMO began from a desire to create something of my own - something made by hand that felt connected to who I am and where I come from.
Growing up in Mexico. I was surrounded by colour, a rich culture and a family of women who have always been drawn to crafts. Creating has always felt natural to me, and over time, that creativity found its way into fashion.
Fashion had always fascinated me. As a little girl, I loved playing dress-up and collecting fashion magazines, but it was through modelling that I started discovering what I was personally drawn to. Being surrounded by artistic and creative people trained my eye for colour and styling, while showing me different ways of approaching fashion and expressing personality through what we wear.
Three years ago, when I moved to Australia, I found crochet to be my creative escape and taught myself how to make my first bag. I quickly became obsessed with the process - creating the pattern, playing with colour combinations and seeing my ideas slowly coming to life. Without really thinking about it, I found myself gravitating towards the bold colours that reminded me of home.
That mix of creating and self-expression became LEMMO - a reflection of my roots, my love of colour and my appreciation for pieces made slowly and with intention.
Today, every LEMMO bag is handmade by me on the Australian East Coast using reclaimed T-shirt yarn - a cotton or cotton-blend material chosen for its bold, structured look and more conscious approach to making.
LEMMO pieces are released in small drops, with every colour carefully selected to reflect the brand's bold and distinctive identity. Working with reclaimed yarn means availability naturally varies, so each drops is produced in limited quantities and some colours may not return once they're gone.
